The Gift of Dyslexia

Dyslexics are bright, intelligent and creative people. They often exhibit a unique talent.

Most dyslexics think predominantly in pictures when they're reading or writing, so it's like having their own private movie going on in their head; they can see it completely and even become a part of it.

The problem

Because dyslexics primarily think in pictures, a problem arises when there is no picture for a word. Parents ask: How can my child read large words but keep missing out the little words like 'the', 'come', 'when', 'was'. This is because large words can usually be recognised by using a mental picture, but the little words are far more difficult to identify in this way. There are 217 words that have been identified as being difficult to relate to a picture, these we call trigger words.

Many people relate dyslexia to a reading problem only; however, dyslexics can also experience difficulty with handwriting, spelling, and maths.

Some people may experience symptoms related to ADD/ADHD such as difficulty with staying focused or sitting still.

The solution

The Davis Dyslexia Correction® Programme has a 97% success rate.

Dyslexics can learn to read, write and study effectively once they have mastered the tools required for their unique learning style. Dyslexia Freedom offers individualized one on one programmes tailored to meet the needs and goals of the individual. Programmes start by establishing the Davis Dyslexia Correction tools to correct perception and then together we work on identifying the things that cause disorientation (confusion), so we can eliminate them.

A support person is required to help the client with mastering the 217 trigger words that are identified as having no picture.

Programmes are tailored for ADULTS and CHILDREN aged 8yrs or older.

I have added my own personal story about our daughter’s journey with the Davis Dyslexia Correction Programme for you to read through - about me.

I’d like to invite you to take your time and read through my website to discover how dyslexia can be overcome once an individual has established the tools required.
